Yao-Kiku Japanese Restaurant, a place to enjoy the most authentic Japanese cuisine in Sonoma County, California.
Yao-Kiku was founded in 1991 by Isamu "Sam" Ogura. Sam has been making sushi and Japanese cuisine for over twenty-five years. In 2015, Sam was joined by co-owner Ramon Estrella, who has been at Yao-Kiku for over five years.
At Yao-Kiku, we offer a variety of Japanese dishes both traditional and contemporary. Whether you are a sushi "addict" seeking the freshest maguro (tuna) or a filling meal of deep-fried tempura, Yao-Kiku promises to delight the senses. Even if you are new to Japanese cuisine we will be happy to suggest the most appropriate dishes that will make your experience eating at Yao-Kiku satisfying.

After many years in business as a solo owner, founder Sam has gone into partnership with long-time sushi chef, Ramon Estrella. Yao-Kiku continues to offer the same quality ingredients for which it has always been known, while adding a fresh new twist.
About Our Food
Owing to the growing interest among customers in healthy eating and organic food, we have begun offering more certified organic food such as: spring mix salad, fresh vegetables from local farmer's markets, free-range chicken, and tofu.
Due to recent consumer interest in wild fish, we are also offering wild salmon and wild ahi tuna when in season.
As part of our commitment to protecting the environment, we are pleased to announce our partnership with a biofuel company in Ukiah that is picking up our kitchen oil waste and recycling it into environmentally friendly biofuels.
